UPRISE: A Global Catholic Movement Promoting The Works Of Mercy
by Colleen D. Mitchell | Outstanding Initiatives, Social Justice
What would it mean to you, your family, and our dear Lord, if you could offer new ways to inspire the next generation of Catholics to give our Church and Our Lord another look, another glance Christ’s way; but in a manner that might better resonate with the current Gen X, Y, and Z, in ways that make sense to them, given their hard-wired hearts of compassion for the needs of others? Would you make the effort? What could you do?

OFFERING CATHOLIC GENEROSITY & MERCY DURING THE GLOBAL PANDEMIC
“Try not to waste these difficult days, but use them to show closeness and affection to family and friends. We must rediscover the concreteness of little things, small gestures of attention (UPRISE Works of Mercy!) we can offer those close to us, our family, our friends,” he said. “We must understand that in small things lies our treasure.”
– Pope Francis

Directory of Lay Movements, Organizations, and Professional Associations
But in particular the lay faithful are called to restore to creation all its original value. In ordering creation to the authentic well-being of humanity in an activity governed by the life of grace, they share in the exercise of the power with which the Risen Christ draws all things to himself and subjects them along with himself to the Father, so that God might be everything to everyone (cf. 1 Cor 15:28; Jn 12:32).
Pope Saint John Paul II, Christifideles Laici, 14
